How it works
Getting started takes a minute.
No SIM card or phone number needed — just a username, a password and your Gmail to prove you are a real person.
- Pick your @usernameUse 4 or more letters and at least one number, for example @lakshmi7 or @jenny21. That is what people use to find you.
- Verify your Gmail onceWe email you a 6-digit code to keep out fake accounts. Your Gmail is never shown to anyone and is not linked to your @username.
- Set a passwordYour password unlocks your account on a new phone or browser. Nobody can reset it for you — not even us — so keep it safe.
- Connect with peopleShare your @username or QR code. They send a request, you accept, and only then can you chat.
- Chat, call and shareMessages, photos, voice notes, files, groups and voice calls — on your phone and in your browser.
Where your messages go
Your phone locks each message with a key only you and the person you are talking to hold. Our server passes the locked message along and deletes it as soon as it is delivered. BharatApp Chat never saves your history — your chats live on your devices and, if you turn it on, in your own Google Drive.
